I have been wondering when the music of these times was going to appear and where it would be coming from. The Hu’s Mongolian folk metal has taken the world by storm. Here is a music video:
and here are the lyrics based on a sixteenth century poem written by Tsogt Taij, which was carved on a rock known as “Tsogtyn Khadnii Bichig” (Rock Inscription of Tsogt The Prince) in 1624.
A king who rules in heaven
A king who rules on earth
They have differences in existing up above and down below
Yet their notion of happiness and affection is the same
Yet their notions of happiness and affection is the same
A bodhisattva who dwells in Aginastai cave
An enlightened person who walks on earth
They have differences in existence
Yet their passions are the same
Yet their passions are the same
A henchman for a king on earth
A henchman for the king of heaven
Their colors and rituals are different
Yet their judgements of right and wrong are the same
Yet their judgments of right and wrong are the same
People who are striving to gain food and wealth
Animals who are wandering in the mountain forest
They have differences in carnal body
Yet their desires to kill and devour are the same
Yet their desires to kill and devour are the same
A person who steals from here and there
A wolf who stalks around the flock
They have differences in manifestations of body
Yet their desires to devour are the same
Yet their desires to devour are the same
